Information Overload
Wow … two months since my last post! Sure doesn’t feel like that long. If a day to God is like a thousand years …
Around All Saints’ Day I looked at the stack of books beside my desk. The stack began at the floor and was almost even with the top of the desk. These were books on my “to read” list.
I’ve read voraciously since then. (Today I plan to update “What I’m Reading”). Some good reads, some almost a waste of time.
During this time I’ve also amped up my podcast listening list.
I’ve been suffering from two months of information overload!
During this Second Week of Advent, I’m relearning once again how to actively wait. I will read less, listen more, practice periods of silence, look for Jesus in surprising people and situations.
Our Worship Arts Pastor wrote a lyric once: “When will all I’ve learned transform the way I live my life?”
For me, the “when” is now. As I await the rehearsal and anticipation of Christ’s comings to us, I expect transformation: in my life, my home, my faith community, my world.
SO TELL ME SOMETHING:
How are you “waiting” this Advent?
