24-hour Prayer Vigil … Hour 6

And then there was me … my hour to pray.

How quickly an hour streams by.  And yet how agonizing an hour can be when God the Spirit shows me what he sees in me.

I was awed by thoughts of how much God the Son sacrificed to be come Jesus the Nazarene.  The creedal passage from Philippians 2 haunted me.  How could God the Creator possibly divest God’s self of all that is God in order to be like us (like me)?

So many areas of selfishness in who I am and how I spend my time were revealed to me.  I must give all of me away for others.  This is the call of the Christ-follower.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me, a poor sinner.

SO TELL ME SOMETHING:
What do you hear when you focus on Jesus?
